Wool jacket

My Valentine rose.    My husband and I agreed not to do flowers or gifts.  I've eaten too much junk and I just got another sewing machine.  He's going to wash my car, and I'm going to clear out the herb and garden space.
This is a basic Kwik Sew jacket I'm working on.  This is a wool from Fabric Mart several years ago.  It needs more pressing and some thread trimming.  I had just put the sleeves in before this picture.  No shoulder pads are in there yet.  I guess it's a work in progress.
I've been wanting to add a little bit of embroidery to my work but I don't feel I know enough about size and placement.  This is some experimentation.  I used the top left stitch shown below.  This jacket is being made on the new Viking 960Q.
Practicing stitches.  I think I want to add some candle wicking stitches to some pillows.  Slow sewing.  Lots of driving, lots of housewife stuff.  My laptop cover was crumbling around the actual keyboard part and my husband and one son ordered a cover and had the laptop in pieces for several days.  It's gone from dark midnight blue to black, but it works great.
