Quilt

So this is the finished badly done, quilt.  I still liked it, and decided to finish the binding.  I googled different ways to do binding and chose this one.  I machine stitched it on both sides for durability.
From the right side.

 The back of the quilt.
The finished quilt.  This one was my own pattern and the first finished quilt I have ever done.  This quilt will go on the floor under some kids and bowls of popcorn for monster movies, in the trunk of the car protecting a find from an random shop, so I'm okay with it.

I have made another quilt top using some ideas from the internet.  My jacket is waiting for me,  I got very busy recently and decided to wait before I got back to the jacket.

Kwik Sew 3251

My husband's jacket in progress.  This jacket has been on my mind for some time.  I had the Jo Anns denim earmarked for some jeans for me, but ending up ordering a pair from LL Bean. So, I am trying the jacket for him.   I'm not that happy with the collar, but it's my first try.  The machine you see by the jacket is my Viking 770.  The Viking 960Q would be around the table facing the cork board.  I would need to lose 2 machines to fit in one machine that does embroidery.  If you see a machine under the thread rack, that's the Viking 100.  I turn it around to face the jacket, and roll the chair around if I want to sew on that one.  I have to shift the 960Q over a bit to get some fabric room.  the plastic carry case under the table is empty.  It used to house a Singer, which broke and I don't have any more.
The back seaming.  I'd love to try some embroidery on the back.
Inside, looking at the seams.  I stopped at the shoulder seams for a break.  Hopefully, it will turn out okay.
 The pattern.
Playing around with a decorative stitch. I have a button hole made on the other end, so I can try buttons with it at the store.

Simplicity 5952

I've had the pattern for some time thinking I would use the pattern for the director's chair pattern, but along came this rocker.  The pattern was quite easy and straight forward.  It did call for some buttons, but I decided to leave that part out.  I'm extremely pleased  with this project.  I purchased the gold fabric a long time ago, and I don't really like it any more, but don't want to just toss it either, some I'm using it up.  I'd love to have these done so I could change with the seasons.  I only got the one picture.  We are down to 2 cars and I'm taxing all over several times a day at times.
My first quilt.  It's badly done.  Quilting is hard for me.  I have since found out I used the wrong foot and the wrong setting on my machine.  This was a basic square quilt with a scrappy back.  A light loft is sandwiched between,  I'm going to bind it with a beginner type of binding at a later date.  I am going to do another basic block again soon, and try again with the quilting stitch.
